Since you're curious

A post house? In this economy?

Crazy? Yes.
Dumb? No.

After three decades in post-production, I’ve been an artist, built and run facilities, and served as a studio executive.

For the past decade, I’ve watched the legacy facility model struggle. I kept hoping someone would adapt it before it was too late.

I’m done waiting.

The community needs a radical new model to sustain the people doing the work, and the industry we all depend on.

Open access to serious infrastructure

The industry changed.

Work became more distributed, more freelance, more creator-led. But the infrastructure stayed locked behind older models built for a different era.

Post-production does not need more nostalgia. It needs a model that reflects how media is actually made now: flexibly, collaboratively, independently, and across many kinds of creators and teams.

We are building something better: professional spaces, connected systems, and a real community designed to support the people doing the work now.

HOLLYWOOD IS THE CORPORATIONS.

THE INDUSTRY IS THE PEOPLE.

The post-production workforce has fundamentally changed.

More editors, assistants, producers, artists, creators, and operators now work independently or fluidly across productions. Teams assemble differently. Careers are built differently. The center of gravity has shifted.

But much of the infrastructure still assumes a world of centralized facilities, fixed teams, expensive long-term commitments, unnecessary add-ons and limited access.

Daily Special is being built around a different assumption:

That the future of post-production belongs to connected independent professionals with open access to serious infrastructure, intelligent systems, and a strong community.

Built for the ones doing the work

Daily Special combines:

  • Professional post-production facilities
  • Flexible memberships
  • Connected booking and workflow systems
  • Secure production infrastructure
  • Community discovery and hiring
  • Shared professional momentum

This is not coworking.

This is not a traditional post house.

This is a new operating model for modern post-production.

What we’re building

The first Daily Special locations are being designed as neighborhood-based creative hubs built around the realities of modern media work.

The model includes:

  • Edit suites
  • Color bays
  • Screening spaces
  • ADR / podcast rooms
  • Shared working areas
  • Secure infrastructure
  • Community and industry programming
  • A connected platform for you to manage access, booking, provisioning, and operations

The platform powers the operation.

The community powers the business.

NO MACHINE ROOM.
NO ADD-ON SERVICES.

NOTHING YOU DON’T NEED.
EVERYTHING YOU DO.

Why this matters

Creative talent is everywhere.

Access is not.

For many professionals, the path to serious infrastructure has become increasingly fragmented, expensive, or inaccessible.

At the same time, creators and independent teams increasingly need professional environments to compete at a higher level.

We believe there is an opportunity to create something more sustainable:

A trusted professional home built around access, flexibility, community, and modern workflows.

Where we are now

We are starting with the community.

Before we build the first facility, we are building the network around it: the people, the conversations, the programming, and the early signal that this industry wants a better model.

That starts with a mailing list. So thanks for being on it!

Not because we need another newsletter, but because we need to demonstrate that the community will show up.

The first phase of Daily Special will focus on:

  • Building the early access list
  • Hosting small events and meetups
  • Starting meaningful conversations with the people doing the work
  • Listening to what the community actually needs
  • Creating momentum before the physical infrastructure comes online

Soon, we will open up an early access funding round.

The goal is simple: the industry should be shaped and owned by the people doing the work, not just the corporations extracting value from it.

It’s time to take back control and build a model that sustains the work we actually do now.

Help us prove the community is ready

If this resonates with you, the most useful thing you can do right now is be on the list, and share with your professional network.

Every signup helps demonstrate that this is not just an idea. It is a real community need with real people behind it.

The list will be used for:

  • Early updates
  • Community events
  • Founding member information
  • Early access to the next phase for those who want to participate

This starts with the people ✊

Daily Special

I'm a former studio exec building a new type of business - not a post house, not coworking, but a connected community with open access to serious professional infrastructure.

The first email was about why I’m building Daily Special. This one is about what it actually is, and what it is designed to do for members. Not a post house. Not coworking. Something else. Daily Special is a membership-based post-production community and infrastructure platform built for the way media work happens now. It is designed for editors, assistants, producers, colorists, finishing artists, creators, small teams, and independent companies who need more than a home setup, but do not...
